Vax V-123 Agilty Upright Carpet Washer

Bought this product in February 2009 at 51% off . . . definitely a bargain!! We have short pile cream carpets throughout and it was getting a bit grubby. One area had a tea stain which had been there for 2 weeks. Tried all types of stain remover to no avail. The Vax Agility brought it out at the first attempt. The suction is brilliant and the carpets were left just barely damp. We would not part with it at any price! 

Vax U91-MA-B Mach Air Multicyclonic Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner   I recently acquired a Vax and was impressed to start with, but it had some design flaws which became very annoying - but this new lightweight Vax which offers the same level of cleaning power in a reduced form has ironed out the niggles I had with its bigger brother.... ...The Vax U91-P5P Power 5 Pet Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaner was a great cleaner but it was top heavy and fell over all too-often, and more annoyingly the power cord entered the unit at the base and so you had to constantly hold it so that you didn't run over over it when you manouvered the vacuum backwards! The 'Mach Air' doesn't have these problems though. In fact, it is very well designed from an ergonimics point of view. The power button is at the top rather than on the base, and a simple push mechanism allows you to adjust the handle height. I'm over six feet tall and my wife is also tall, she's not likely to use this (I'm a domestic God) but should she ever drag it out then she'll also appreciate that we don't have to stood to use it. A lot of though has gone into the general operation of this Vax: The brush bar can be switched off at the press of a button (conveniently placed next to the power button) so that it can be used on hard floors without the risk of scratching. Easy clips on the base allow access to the brushbar to be accessed in case of any entanglements (happens regularly in my house when I pick up a carpet thread), and the dust compartment is detached within seconds so that it can then be emptied into the bin. This machine is advertised as light-weight, and although you're not going to be picking it up with one finger - it's definitively a lot lighter than the other vacuums I've had. At first I though it looked a bit puny, but the small form means that the brushbar can get right up to the edge, and wherever it can't reach - the onboard tools can. In a nutshell: A well thought out vacuum cleaner which looks pretty snazzy too. The dust bucket is pretty small so you might find yourself emptying it more regularly than other models. But it's a fine trade-off for a smaller, lighter cleaner which is easily stored. This is incredibly easy to use and the only assembly it needs out-of-the-box is sticking the handle into the main body. There are more powerful models in the market - but this fits a niche and after having a few small vacuum cleaners over the years - this easily out-performs them all.

 

Dyson DC14 Vacuum Carpeted Homes

The DC14 probably falls into Dyson's mid price point, and it's a cracking piece of kit. I have mainly short carpets in my house, and the suction is very strong (sometimes clinging on with such force that it can be quite hard work to push it along) If I had to find one fault, I'd have to say that it's a tad on the loud side, but then not really any louder than any other unit I've used.

Let's face it - hovering is not the world's most exciting job, but it's got to be done, and with a Dyson, it makes it just that little bit more pleasurable (in a sad, geeky kind of way!). Despite their seemly high price tag, I think the Dyson's are actually very good value for money in the long run - almost an investment! I certainly won't be buying anything else! 

After wasting money on vacuum cleaners that just don't have the power, I decided to give in and buy this Dyson DC14 Original Upright. Wow... love it. So clever. Even though its his original design its still fantastic. The suction is so good I can see it pulling at my carpet. Why did I waste so much time and money not getting one!

Vax V-124A Dual V Upright Carpet Washer

 Just bought this machine while it is about half price!What a bargain! I know November is not the ideal time to clean carpets but I couldnt wait. The machine is fabulous my carpets came up so clean & when I saw what had come out ---well!!With 2 dogs you can imagine. It is easy to operate - I would just advise to go easy on the "trigger" or the carpet gets too wet. Also quite heavy & very noisy & the carpets do remain damp but guess better to use on a nice warm sunny day! I am however delighted with the machine & recommend it - cheaper than professional prices! 

 GTECH Cordless Sweeper 7.2v NiMH SW02

I purchased this on recommendation and I am absolutley thrilled with it. It's excellent for picking up hairs and pet fur, gets under units very well, not so great on very long/shaggier pile carpet as fibres get caught up in roller and also no good on wooden/tiled floors as it just moves the dust around, but that's a minor thing and not the job I bought it for. I regularly have a quick sweep around the whole top floor of the house (wooden flooring downstairs!) and it's great for stairs with the detachable long handle. The dust collector fills very quickly but is easy to empty and makes you realise how much dust and dirt is still around even after a go with the full sized vac! It is so light weight and easy to nip round with, I use it nearly every day. Would highly recommend. 

This is one great sweeper. Have had others in the past but this is in a class on its own. Picks up hairs you didn't know were there, works on carpet and hard floor. It is obviously a small sweeper not a vaccuum but is ideal for whizzing round instead of having to get the main vac. out. Don't know how I managed without it. If you are puzzling whether this is the correct sweeper buy it - I'm going to get one for each of my daughters.

I have never done a review before but just had to do one on this vacum as it's unbelievably brilliant. If I could find one thing wrong with this vacum it would prove impossible. Have read all the other reviews and quite frankly I can't understand how there is anything negative. The length of cable is adequate despite many negative remarks about it being to short. The negative coments about the cable coming from the bottom of the hoover also does not make sense, as to me it's obviously safer as it means tugging on the vacum/lead when using the hose won't allow the body of the vacum to topple over. Also there is a clip on the handle to push/clip the cable into so it dosn't drag on the floor. The review about using the handle on the hose which then means theres a problem moving the vacum doesn't make sense either, as there is another handle on the body of the machine which can be used to move/lift the machine whilst using the handle/hose or for carrying the vacum up/down stairs. The power of suction on this machine is amazing. The amount of reach of the hose using the handle is fabulous especially for reaching up high for cobwebs etc. The suction of the hose using the tools is incredibly powerful. The weight for lifting the machine upstairs is so light, I am only 5ft and suffer a serious breathing disorder and can manage with ease. Dyson DC30 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner (Latest Generation)

Well, perhaps that's a slight exaggeration. But compared with the handheld cleaners I've had in the past, it's in a different league entirely. It has made hoovering the car a joy, and comes into its own when my friend Andrew eats pistachio nuts in the drawing room and leaves a little scatter of crumbs.

Because it sucks so effectively, the 6-minute extent of the charge doesn't really matter: a minute or two freshens up the car. Emptying it is easy: hold it over the bin, push a button to release the little door, and give it a shake. Just remember to click the door firmly back in place, as another reviewer has commented.

It also looks satisfyingly like a death ray gun, which gives you a thrill every time you pull the trigger. I don't get out much.

It *is* expensive (unless very kind friends buy it for your Christmas present - thanks Clare and Brian). But I've had a couple of cheaper handhelds, and they've ended up in the back of a cupboard because they didn't suck, just gently breathed in, and were a nuisance to clean. You get what you pay for, I'm afraid.

Dyson DC27 Animal Upright Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Hair Removal

Just replaced my elderly DC01 which has just died. This is the only vacuum cleaner to buy. It really is the best and I did my homework. If you've got pets it will free you from hairs and fluff effortlessly. I even tried it on synthetic fleece dog beds, I used the mini turbo head and the cleaner cleaned them perfectly and removed doggy odours, I've never been able to do that before. I used to find my old Dyson hopeless with the hose and attachments, this is in an altogether different league The cylinder is easy to empty too. It's easy to push around and my carpets look wonderful. Asthmatics should also buy this cleaner as it has Hepa filters and they are washable. The cable is heavy duty and extra long. The DC27 ... A brilliant machine....It's not called 'The Absolute' for nothing.
Clearly, a lot of thought has gone into the design of this vacuum cleaner and it will not disappoint. A secret...cut along to Curry's with your old one and save 25%...they are the cheapest supplier just now (Oct. half term). This is money well spent.

Dyson DC23 Animal Dyson Stowaway Easy Storage Cylinder Vacuum for Pet Owners

We wanted a good vacuum cleaner that could handle fur from our bunny who is running around our apartment 24/7. What was also important that it could handle little hay bits. The Dyson DC23 does everything perfect and gets all fur and hay out of the carpet. Also the attachment for the sofa was super, it got all the fur of my cushions in no time. Couldn't be more impressed!

If you have bunnies wandering around in your home then this vacuum cleaner is perfect for you!

Dyson DC19T2 Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner with Re-engineered Floor Tool

First:
Forget the 'serious design flaw' mentioned in a previous review. Just MOVE YOUR HAND and you'll reach it with no problem.

The design?
As usual with Dyson, is superb and simple. Everything is made to come apart easily for cleaning, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put it back together. The diagrams in the handbook are clear and concise, with no extraneous blurb to pad things out.

The cable length 'issue'?
I found 6 Metres to be enough to work with and not too long to get tangled up around furniture. Most houses these days have multiple wall sockets for the new fangled electricity, so moving a plug from one to the other is hardly the end of the World. You just don't need miles of cable any more.

The performance? Well, what do you expect me to say? Dyson always delivers, and this vacuum is no exception to the rule.

Is it cheap?
No, but you knew that already. Dyson stuff will never be cheap because what you are buying is not 'just another hoover' but a superbly designed piece of work that looks cool, and will continue to look cool long after other machines are dust.
There's also the matter of the five year guarantee, which says a lot about Dyson's confidence in it's products.

I might add that I've just bought the AM01 fan. Nope, not cheap either, but it's the design that makes Dyson stand out from the crowd, and will continue to do so for as long as they remain innovators in their field.
